We are so stupendously excited to be able to present this band at The Greystones this year. We've heard the recordings, we've watched a bit of the rehearsals and they sound ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!!!
You will LOVE them!
Bright Phoebus' own, Martin Simpson on electric guitar is worth coming along for the 'you won't be disappointed' curiosity value if nothing else, but then alongside that tour de force of fabulousness, you have the wonderful and unique singing and playing of Adam Holmes, one of the most exciting talents on the scene, plus Nancy Kerr, who as we all well know is a Goddess of music and song, driven along by a (singing) rhythm section to die for of Tom A Wright on drums/vocals and Alex Hunter on bass.
We don't have enough hyperbole to go around for this group and they are coming to Sheffield!
"A cross-border band out of Sheffield and Edinburgh of multi-award winning talents and wide musical influences, they were formed out of an idea, then some phone calls and then the obligatory studio jam, which quickly proved that the musical possibilities of this band are something special and unique in today's UK scene. And 'a band' it is! It's not a project, there's not a theme and there's not a commission. It's five musicians in a room making an enthusiastic noise. Sometimes very loudly.
There will be new songs, there will be some great and unusual covers and there will be reworked traditional songs. There will be folk and there will very likely be blues. A bit of country and maybe even some rock 'n' roll.
Whatever happens, it will be a musical mix of everything you could expect from such a line-up - lush harmonies, intricate guitars, gorgeous fiddle lines and rick solid bass and drums."
