Description

FAKE TURINS

Fake Turins are a North-London based audiovisual collective led by Dominic Rose. Their central force stems from the warehouses of Haringey and Tottenham, the city offering imperial scope but also countless loss. The band independently released a string of well received singles through 2019 and were longlisted for Glastonbury Emerging Talent competition as a result. In 2020 the band returned with 'Legs' and were set to play Standon Calling Festival alongside their first European festival in Left Of The Dial (The Netherlands) in October, only for it to be cancelled due to the global pandemic.

'Legs' was named John Kennedy's 'Hot One' on Radio X and received praise and plays from Amazing Radio on both sides of the Atlantic. The release caught the attention of tastemaker indie press and was summed up perfectly by So Young Magazine as ?Lyrically subversive yet audibly untouchable?.

Through a punk-disco lens, the bands previous output expresses the horror of modern life?s normalcy. ?Legs? is the story of compelled movement, of drifting backwards and forwards. We know the struggles of mental health, but our bodies move themselves despite this stasis. Fake Turins are set to release a new single in early 2021 followed by their debut EP.

LE JUNK

Surfacing in the midst of 2020, multi-instrumentalist Le Junk is an artist from London making alternative pop music through a glitzy mishmash of indie electronica and sleazy disco rock.

Having gained support from Radio X?s John Kennedy and BBC Radio 6 Music?s Steve Lamacq with debut single ?Rich Romance? and recent musical collaboration with Primitive Ignorant, Le Junk?s genre-bending sound has been praised by the likes of Wonderland, Earmilk, Louder Than War, and Electronic Sound.

Description

The most celebrated live music venue in Europe and one of the most famous in the world. Our longevity is due to an open minded music policy which has seen many different musical styles performed at this venue over It's long history.

Live music began at 100 Oxford Street on 24th October 1942. It was first played at Mack's restaurant (as it was then known) when British jazz drummer Victor Feldman's father hired the venue on a regular Sunday night to showcase the talents of his jazz loving sons and their band. The band consisted of Victor and his two brothers Robert on clarinet and Monty on accordion. They were joined by legendary British saxophonist Jimmy Skidmore for the opening night.
