AHIR SHAH

Double Edinburgh Comedy Award ?Best Show? nominee Ahir Shah is one of the fastest-rising comedians of his generation. Shah?s sharp, intellectual brand of stand-up features a blend of philosophical inquiry, political vigour, and sweet gags. Ahir?s latest show Dots completely sold out at the Edinburgh Fringe and is currently touring the UK ahead of an international release on US streaming platform HBO Max. It follows Duffer and Control which also sold out and were nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award for Best Show and subsequently toured the UK and overseas. Ahir has performed internationally at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, the Adelaide Fringe and Just for Laughs Montreal, and has toured in continental Europe and India. He has performed stand-up on Live At The Apollo (BBC 2), The Now Show (Radio 4) and Stand Up Central (Comedy Central). Outside of stand up, Ahir has also been seen on shows including Have I Got News For You (BBC1), FrankieBoyle?s New World Order (BBC 2), Catastrophe (Channel 4), and Campus (Channel 4). He has also performed and regularly writes on The Mash Report (BBC 2) and has written and starred in the short films Ahir Shah?s Summer (Sky) and Ahir Shah?s Life Lessons (BBC Three) and has developed two sitcom pilots for Channel 4.

SARA BARON

Sara Barron is one of the fastest-rising comedians of her generation. Since her 2018 debut at the Edinburgh Fringe, she?s starred on shows including Live at the Apollo (BBC), Would I Lie to You? (BBC) and Frankie Boyle?s New World Order (BBC).

A powerhouse live act, Sara?s two stand-up hours, For Worse (2018) and Enemies Closer (2019) have sold out at both the Edinburgh Festival and at multiple runs in London?s Soho Theatre. She was nominated for ?Best Newcomer? at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards and at the Chortle Awards, as well as receiving rave reviews from publications including The Times, The Guardian, The Independent, The Evening Standard and The Scotsman.


MC JACOB HAWLEY

He?s the creator and star of BBC Radio 4?s Welcome to Britain and presenter of BBC Sounds Jacob Hawley: On Drugs and Jacob Hawley?s Job Centre. Most recently Jacob won Silver for Best New presenter for the ARIA Awards. He has rapidly generated interest as one of the boldest new voices on the circuit with his astute observations and political passion.

Description

The most celebrated live music venue in Europe and one of the most famous in the world. Our longevity is due to an open minded music policy which has seen many different musical styles performed at this venue over It's long history.

Live music began at 100 Oxford Street on 24th October 1942. It was first played at Mack's restaurant (as it was then known) when British jazz drummer Victor Feldman's father hired the venue on a regular Sunday night to showcase the talents of his jazz loving sons and their band. The band consisted of Victor and his two brothers Robert on clarinet and Monty on accordion. They were joined by legendary British saxophonist Jimmy Skidmore for the opening night.
