Description

Blurt

Psycho-funk, afro-punk, fake no-wave, pogo-jazz
http://www.tedmilton.net/

Blurt leader Ted Milton is a man with his own unique creative expression. Puppeteer-turned-eccentric saxophonist, he is perhaps the epitome of warped genius.
Founded in Stroud in 1979, Blurt shared bills with Joy Division and A Certain Ratio. They were also championed by John Peel.
Their sound is rough and urgent. Their audiences often flabbergasted and awestruck but then hooked and happily drawn into the strange world that is Blurt.
Blurt have been rediscovered by critics and new, younger audiences, receiving invitations to play major festivals in the UK and Europe including Glastonbury, also as far abroad as China and Russia and remain a vital force in alternative music today.

Ampersand

Improvisers of industrial ambient noise
http://www.ampersandnoise.com

Ampersand are an improvisational sound ensemble who have performed across Europe over the last few years. They produce an experience of sound to envelop the audience in the act of the moment and the art of the moment. This uniquely pan-generational group utilises found objects, engineered metal, deconstructed traditional instruments and audio toys.
Ampersand performances are always improvised, they arise thus from the moment, the place, the atmosphere, the occurrences of that day. The sound, and the experience of that sound, are imposed on all the senses, to share with the audience a charged and super-layered emotional state.

The 100 Club Profile Pic

Description

The most celebrated live music venue in Europe and one of the most famous in the world. Our longevity is due to an open minded music policy which has seen many different musical styles performed at this venue over It's long history.

Live music began at 100 Oxford Street on 24th October 1942. It was first played at Mack's restaurant (as it was then known) when British jazz drummer Victor Feldman's father hired the venue on a regular Sunday night to showcase the talents of his jazz loving sons and their band. The band consisted of Victor and his two brothers Robert on clarinet and Monty on accordion. They were joined by legendary British saxophonist Jimmy Skidmore for the opening night.
