100 Club presents a Bank Holiday Monday all-dayer featuring some of the most exciting world, jazz and alternative artists. 

Afriquoi, Electric Jalaba, Pan Amsterdam, Ebi Soda and TOE (members of Nubiyan Twist) all head to the 100 Club on August 30th to bring a feast of music tailor-made for dancing. 

Afriqoui

Live African dance music, fusing Congolese guitar + Gambian kora virtuosity with UK electronic sensibilities to create captivating, beautiful, dancefloor- friendly new music for a new generation of world music fans with one foot in the clubs.

Afriquoi are an underground sensation, bringing an uplifting fusion of African music and live electronics. The masterful 5-piece live show combines Gambian kora, Congolese guitar + Mandinka percussion styles with electronic music drawing on house, soca, hiphop, soul + jungle to create something entirely unique.

Based in London, Afriquoi is a UK afro supergroup, with every musician a band leader in their own right. With members ranging in age across 3 decades, originating from Africa, the Carribean and the UK, Afriquoi is true fusion music in the best sense of the word, bringing together a vast depth of musical knowledge, culture and life experience.

Electric Jalaba

The best music takes you away. It reconnects, and renews. It has a vibe born in the ancient culture of immediate creation, a heightened state summoned by the shapes of psychedelia and the echoes of Jamaican dub, by the cyclical trance of electronic music and the transformations of jazz.

By the hypnotic pulse of Moroccan Gnawa music, a North African tradition with healing at its core and roots reaching further down into the Motherland.

All of which and more swirl inside the music of Electric Jalaba: six musicians with an empathy that feels telepathic, and a groove that immerses and dazzles. In Arabic, the mother tongue of Moroccan-born singer and guimbri player Simo Lagnawi, a leading practitioner of Gnawa music in Britain, they call this subcurrent, this indefinable quality, ?el hal?. The feeling.

Pan Amsterdam

Fresh off the back of the release of his new single, Retail, via Def Pressé, US-based Pan Amsterdam plays his first UK show of 2021 before heading into his headline tour in September, alongside an exclusive festival appearance at End of the Road. As well as releasing tracks with Sleaford Mod Jason Williamson, Pan Amsterdam?s cutting wit and ear-worm-laiden catalogue bring a unique and brilliant flavour to the day.

Ebi Soda

Rising Brighton quintet Ebi Sod bring a big band feel, spilling tight grooves and innovative brass lines through their live shows and recordings. Playing across the UK at festivals including We Out Here, Ebi Soda are sure to be a name on the lips of jazz lovers in the coming months and years

TOE

Joe Henwood (Nubiyan Twist) and Tash Keary (Jellycleaver) - TOE - cast a mysterious online presence, but to those who have managed to catch one of their thrilling live sets, TOE have been fast developing a reputation as one of the most exciting up-and-coming Jazz artists in an otherwise thriving London scene. Not to be missed.

The most celebrated live music venue in Europe and one of the most famous in the world. Our longevity is due to an open minded music policy which has seen many different musical styles performed at this venue over It's long history.

Live music began at 100 Oxford Street on 24th October 1942. It was first played at Mack's restaurant (as it was then known) when British jazz drummer Victor Feldman's father hired the venue on a regular Sunday night to showcase the talents of his jazz loving sons and their band. The band consisted of Victor and his two brothers Robert on clarinet and Monty on accordion. They were joined by legendary British saxophonist Jimmy Skidmore for the opening night.
