Back in late June, towards the end of lockdown, Michael and Lou chose The Kitchen Garden to be one of their very first shows after an 18 month hiatus. It sold out in no time and we are delighted to welcome them back for a special My Darling Clementine pre-Christmas concert
Their most recent album, Country Darkness - the songs of Elvis Costello, has been hailed as a classic by some writers in the US.
"Ultimately it?s Dalgleish & King?s performances that make Country Darkness the mighty masterpiece that it is.? (GOLDMINE, USA)
The new album sees them collaborating with the piano genius Steve Nieve, Costello?s long time right-hand man, as they reinterpret songs from the Costello back catalogue, in particular his more country and country soul flavoured songs.
?like listening to Glen Campbell put his own spin on a great song and hear him make it even greater.? (LOUDER THAN WAR)
"King and Dalgleish capture every nuance and emotion without ever going over the top or misstepping? (RNR4/5****)
The show in December will feature a number of the Costello songs, many favourites from MDC?s 9 year back catalogue, as well as some of their favourite seasonal country classics.
