Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

In an effort to keep everyone as safe as possible, we will be selling a limited number of 'make at home' lantern kits including all the materials and instructions you need to make a Father Christmas-themed lantern.

Kits will include a bamboo cane but you will need to provide your own battery powered fairy lights or torch - there won't be any candles allowed this year for safety reasons.

We will be selling rolls of good quality masking tape at the collection sessions for £1.00 per roll (cost price) - please bring the correct money so you can throw it in the bucket and help yourself.

To avoid large crowds amassing, there won't be a Lantern Procession this year, lantern-makers will make their own way to the Market Square in time for the Switch-On celebrations and carol singing on Saturday 27 November 2021 (timings tbc). If you don't feel comfortable being with others, you can light your lantern and put it in your window or front garden for everyone to see instead.

This ticket entitles you to 1 Lantern Kit which will need to be collected from York House Centre on one of the dates below.

Please DO NOT turn up at York House outside of these days/hours or try and contact the York House Office as it is not open to the public at the moment and all project administration is being done by the Lantern Volunteers this year.
