Description

?If you've never seen or heard The John Verity Band before you have missed someone very special indeed. Over many years from the early ARGENT days, John has produced some great blues based albums, travelled thousands of miles up and down the land packing venues and has a vast base of fans who see him again and again. Recently he brought out a ?Live in 2017? DVD, which is one of those unmissable releases. Now comes what could be the best album of his career, as well as best blues album of 2017, ?Blue to my soul?. Great songs, great performances! John not only has a great voice for his material but his exceptional guitar playing almost segues voice and guitar into one.?

John Verity is perhaps still best known for his time as frontman in ARGENT from 1973 to 1976 after Russ Ballard recommended John as his replacement. He had seen an early version of The John Verity Band supporting Argent when John was out promoting the very first JV album. Previous to that John spent time working in the Bahamas and the US which culminated with prestige support slots for Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Mountain amongst others.

John is also an established producer of numerous artists which have included Saxon, Charlie and Phoenix plus his own extensive album catalogue but his priority has always been ?live work?. An extensive touring schedule in 2016/17 to promote the last album release ?My Religion' has seen him scaling new heights and reaching even more enthusiastic audiences, which is continuing throughout 2018/19 at many new venues and festivals.

The new album 'Blue to my Soul' released in November 2017, went straight in at No 4 in the IBBA charts and the top 10 in many radio stations worldwide. It has received great reviews including in 'Blues in Britain' and is currently on radio playlists across the world including the US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Europe. As the words of one of the songs from the album states 'This Old Dog-ain't done yet, he's still blue to the soul and he's coming back!'

At this performance John is joined by Roger Inniss on bass (Laurence Jones, Blues Caravan, Joanne Shaw-Taylor, Ash Wilson, Elkie Brooks, Ruby Turner amongst others) and our young and innovative drummer Liam James Gray.

?In 2016 I saw John Verity Band for the first time, his set was absolutely amazing and his rendition of ?Purple Haze? was breath taking. So much so that I can truly say I've travelled the length and breadth of these islands to see him since, North Scotland, Glasgow, Whitehaven and Minehead.?

?You are left under no illusion that you are in the hands of a proper musician and vocalist who would have no problem filling a stadium, packing out any club and bringing a festival audience to their feet. Go see him!?
