Description

A night of ragtime, chanson, musette, Eastern European folk and old-time jazz at the new Jamboree in King's Cross with Jimbino Vegan's Jazz Cannibal's and Ali Afleck.

The Jazz Cannibals were formed in  2011 in New Orleans. Since then Jimbino Vegan has returned to UK and gathered new great musicians to play his original songs, jazz classics, ragtime, french chanson, musette and Eastern European songs from the early 20th century. Expect beautiful music, skillfully played with fun and joyful energy!  

Fresh back from Cork Jazz Festival the band are looking forward to their debut show at the new Jamboree!

Ali and Lucas will take us on a journey through the red hot roots of jazz and blues, with a focus on the pioneering piano-centric artists such as Jellyroll Morton - one of New Orleans ?inventors? of jazz.

Ali Affleck is an award winning vocal specialist, storyteller, dancer and jazz historian, well known for her vivacious stagecraft, exciting international collaborations and inimitable knowledge and authentic delivery of ?old time? jazz and blues.

Ali has played all over the world for swing dance events and festivals such as Tokyo Swing Jack, Swing 46 in New York City, Jazzy Feet Paris, Ascona Jazz Festival, French quarter Festival in New Orleans, and Tangiers jazz Festival. Commissioned regularly by the BBC and a headliner for the past five years at Edinburgh Jazz Fest (with a large scale production at the Assembly hall) Ali collaborates with the finest old time jazz and blues musicians in the world.

Lucas Ferrari is one of the top classic jazz musicians who has emerged in the Argentine jazz scene in the 21st century.

He began his piano studies in 2003, and by 2008 he was already in professional activity in various jazz and blues clubs in his hometown. In the last decade Lucas has visited some of the most renowned jazz cities in the world such as Montreal, New Orleans, New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Paris, interacting directly with some of the most important musicians of the genre.
