A Different Thread is fronted by Alicia Best from Durham, North Carolina, and Robert Jackson from the Lichfield, Staffordshire. The two met busking in Ireland in 2016 and have been on the road ever since, touring and creating original music together. Their songs deal with the themes of love, loss, and life on the open road. Pulling from their respective roots, they weave together elements of 70s? Folk Revival, Country, and Appalachian Blues into a timeless blend of Americana. The band released their second album, Call of the Road, in September last year, and are on tour with double bass player, Mike Seal.

By day our Cafe serves delicious home-cooked food, Fairly Traded coffee & tea and homemade cakes & pastries. All with a nod to local and ethical sourcing. We cater for Vegetarians, Vegans and dietary issues, just ask if you need anything not catered for on our menus. We also have a Delicatessen serving our own home-cooked food daily.
On Sunday to Thursday evenings we host the best acoustic music in the City, specialising in Folk, Roots and Americana.
On Friday and Saturday evenings the Cafe is available for private functions, weddings and parties, please call or email for more details.
