Arriving via the London-Canterbury based, arch-Europhile, Gare du Nord records Keiron Phelan & Peace Signs present an elegant baroque pop with touches of early '70s glam, folk and country. A founder member of critically acclaimed post rock outfit State River Widening, Phelan has also worked widely with indie luminaries such as Pete Astor, Darren Hayman, and The Bitter Springs.
"A brightly lit soundworld, capricious magic and some subtly warped reality". MOJO ****
"Keiron Phelan, previously of State River Widening, littlebow and Smile Down Upon Us, leads from the front to marshall a cast of collaborators in delightful surprises. Bristling with all-star, outre indie talent, Peace Signs is as witty as it is charming, as wry as it is inventive." Shindig! *****
"Trying to pin this down is tricky and that's the point. Flashes of the KInks, elements of pre-Space Oddity Bowie, nods to Steve Harley, a dash of Neil Hannon and a pinch of Bacharach's orchestral pop." RnR
"Makes me feel better about being English"
