An original and empowering production as part of The Post Pandemic Performance Project's 'Off-Book'...
'A group of four 1950s housewives decide being obedient to their husbands and attending knitting clubs isn?t the life it?s cut out to be. Instead, these perfect housewives set out to find a new hobby and define a new music genre: punk rock.
Living in a highly misogynistic society means they must act in whatever means necessary to bake the best biscuits around (- that is, make records). To do this, they use the basement underneath their knitting club as a makeshift studio.
The play focuses on themes of feminism, friendship, an unconventional rock band, and the coming together of four powerful women who discover they share more interests than just knitting.'
