After a pandemic-induced hiatus, multi award-winning singer/songwriter, Blair Dunlop returns with his new album ?Let?s Get Out of the Rain?.
A seasoned traveller, he released his first live LP ?Trails: Queensland? mid-lockdown, serving not only as a live album, but also as a documentation of rural Australia during the forest fires. Having recently returned from a tour of Palestine, his latest album expands on some of the socio-political leanings of his fourth, and critically acclaimed, record, ?Notes from and Island?(2018), whilst also being shaped with a lighter and more optimistic edge. Much of the record has been written in his new home of Bristol, a creative hub of the UK, and that?s reflected in its contemporary sound.
This recording see?s Blair teaming up with Jim Moray as Producer and includes Jamie Morrison - Stereophonics/ Noisettes (Drums) Holly Brandon - The Magpies (Violin), Archie Churchill-Moss - The Lost Boys (Accordion), Graham Coe - The Jellyman?s Daughter (cello) amongst more as guest musicians
2024 will be a timely return to the stage, where he is most comfortable. Blair has toured extensively in Europe and Australia, appearing at festivals such as Glastonbury, Cambridge Folk Festival in the UK, and Port Fairy and Woodford in Australia; whilst scooping a prestigious BBC Folk Award thanks, in no small part, to his intimate and engaging live shows.
