Reading it Wrong is a study of writers and their readers in 18th century England. Alexander Pope, Daniel Defoe and Jonathan Swift all generated and depended upon misreadings of their work. By studying the notes left by readers of the period, we come to understand that you can never know all the answers in literature. Maybe you don't even need to try to do so.
