Andy Skellam + Beth Porter + Fritillaries

Event Type

Genre : Music - Folk/blues/world

Description

Three fantastic musical acts on one bill.

Andy Skellam is a Bristol based, alt-folk musician with over twenty years of experience writing and performing in the UK and beyond. His main instruments are guitar and vocals with influences from 60's finger-style folk musicians such as Nick Drake, Leonard Cohen & Joni Mitchell to English Psychedelia such as Kevin Ayres and Syd Barrett.

?Andy creates intimate worlds, inviting the listener in with the warmth of his baritone voice? (Folk Radio UK).

He will be touring his new album 'Brighten Up The Place' with a four piece band consisting of guitar, vocals, double bass, drums, piano and Beth Porter on cello.

"This album is a marvellous balm" (Kate Stables - This Is The Kit).
"Something new and rather good" (Gideon Coe, Radio 6).

Ivor Novello Nominated songwriter, cellist and singer Beth Porter will be touring her new EP. "Quirky, engaging and really rather brilliant." (fRoots Magazine).

Fritillaries (formerly known as Rainy Day Woman) is the original project of folk/Americana songwriter Hannah Pawson. Using banjo, guitar and harmonium, her recent songs have their hands in the soil and take a compassionate look at the shadowy parts of ourselves. Fritillaries have been played on BBC Radio 6, BBC Radio 2, featured extensively in Folk Radio UK, reviewed by RNR magazine and Americana UK.
