Description

?ROURKE? ? A group of established musicians and familiar faces come together to form a band in honour of Andy Rourke, celebrating the late great iconic bass player?s work, from early Smiths to Sinead O?Connor.

The set list will include the bass hero?s catalogue classics with a selection of Smiths and a peppering of Andy?s other post-Smiths work, including the singles he played on and co-wrote with Morrissey and his work with Sinead O?Connor.

?ROURKE? IS: KEELEY: a singer/songwriter who is making waves in music for her ethereal dream pop sound and critically acclaimed 2023 debut album Floating Above Everything Else.

ANDREW PARESI:  One of the most revered drummers of our generation, Andrew Paresi worked with Andy Rourke on many early Morrissey singles and albums including Bona Drag.  Andrew?s drumming with Morrissey is unparalleled.  See and hear it live to believe it.

EZRA MARTIN:  Bass player from New York, a friend of Andy Rourke and founding member of Sadie the band that toured as support for Andy?s band Specter across the US.  Ezra is a familiar face at The Dublin Castle, as The Salford Lads exceptional bassist.

JUSTIN PARSONS:  Detail-driven guitarist from New York impassioned by early Smiths, also in Sadie, who toured the US with Andy Rourke supporting Specter, and as guitarist in The Salford Lads.

JOHN KAPP:  Guitarist with a flavour for live and raw sound.  Plays in Aerial Love Feed and also played at The Dublin Castle with The Salford Lads.

TSL were known as New York?s greatest tribute to The Smiths at the turn of the Millennium, selling out venues across the East Coast.

The ?ROURKE? project plans to shine a light on the heartbeat of The Smiths, Andy Rourke, with a setlist of songs to honour Andy at his finest:  a light that will never go out and the reason his contribution made everything danceable.  ?ROURKE? has been endorsed by Andy?s brothers.

Cloudy Heads-Anglo-French indie pop, there?s a bit of an Oasis influence, but it?s snappy and upbeat some nice Beatlesey harmonies, it?s great melodic pop with a psychedelic sheen?great stuff.

The Clocks- Brit psych pop with garage undertones, more Yardbirds and Pretty Things than Nuggets?

Alan Caruso ? ?My Eyes Are Still Curly And My Hair Is Still Blue? is the new EP by Alan Caruso. Eccentric alt country shaped fare. Lee Hazelwood influences, or a comedic Leonard Cohen!- via ironic slacker pop- Ween maybe. A bit of Dylan and perhaps Robyn Hitchcock at his more Americana?

Description

The Dublin Castle is a legendary pub and music venue located 2 minutes away from Camden Town tube station. It has been run by the same family for over 28 years and features 4 live bands every night as well as a great selection of beers, ciders and wines.

There are DJs after the bands on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and a fabulous jukebox in the front bar if you’re after a more relaxed atmosphere.

But what is it that makes the Dublin Castle the long-standing centre of the indie rock universe? Is it because it’s Madness’ birthplace? Because its stage has been graced by everyone from Blur, through Coldplay, Supergrass, The Killers, The Arctic Monkeys, Billy Bragg, etc? Is it because it was no surprise to see Amy Winehouse behind the bar serving costumers? Or Suggs? (who, mind you, tended to ignore costumers and serve himself) Or is it because far from being just another Camden venue it has established itself as an indie rock institution? The answer is that it’s not only because of its musical heritage that people come to the Dublin Castle, it’s because whilst you enjoy a pint, play some tunes on the jukebox, check out the live bands, get your dancing shoes on for our DJs, chat to our friendly staff or even stage-invade a little, you’re inadvertently being part of this movement the Dublin Castle leads, this cultural legacy. Expect no castle battlements. Just pure rock and roll royalty.
