Wise Woman bring their heady collision of lush vocal harmonies, cinematic cello and 90s girl power to Jamboree as part of their UK tour, tonight celebrating International Women's Day!
Hailing from the East Anglian and Welsh wildlands, power-folk 4-piece formed in the darkness of a pandemic winter. Their ?startling and shimmering? (Folk Wales) songwriting, blending folk, jazz and musical theatre has has enchanted audiences far and wide. Their live show journeys through their acclaimed debut EP 'Thread' (2022) as well as innovative arrangements of traditional folk favourites. From fenland witches to Boudicca and the smoky underbelly of 1905 New Orleans, their intricate music transports audiences on a theatrical dream ride through forgotten worlds and everyday treasures.
The band release their 'Home Safe' with a video starring dancer and The Place Associate Artist Anders Duckworth in April, 2024.
Jamboree is a grass-roots world music venue and bar hosting Folk, Blues, Americana, Celtic, Mediterranean, Eastern, European, GypsyPunk and Old Time Jazz!
Jamboree is back with a POP-UP adventure in a different venue in Limehouse from December 1st!
