Scheduled for our next Monday night esoteric talk, we welcome back Gary Parsons who presents "Witchcraft & the Occult in Hammer Horror"

In this talk Gary Parsons does a deep delve into the representations of witchcraft and magick In Hammer Horror films. He will discuss movies such as The Devil Rides Out (1968) and The Satanic Rites Of Dracula (1973) among many others, including episodes of the Hammer House Of Horror TV series.
He looks at what was happening culturally in Britain at the time with the witchcraft revival that would influence elements of these films as Hammer tried to push the boundaries of what they were showing on screen.

Gary Parsons has an MA in film from Goldsmiths College London and his previous talks include 'Witchcraft Documentaries of The 1970's' and Aleister Crowley on Film'.
