terrace cred. presents:
Charlie Dore, one of the UK?s most respected songwriters, touring with long-time collaborator, the brilliant multi instrumental singer/writer/actor Julian Littman (Steeleye Span), ?my other brother? - together they're a formidable duo.
Charlie has been one of terrace cred.'s most requested acts to bring back into Brighton and, after toing and froing for ages'n'ages (at a distance and close to), we've secured a fresh date.
Charlie Dore?s songs have been recorded by the good and the great including George Harrison, Tina Turner, Celine Dion, Jimmy Nail and Ricky Ross, but her live shows reveal that actually she keeps the best songs for herself - not just that classic 45rpm hit 'Pilot of The Airwaves' from 45 years back.
Charlie continues to win awards both sides of the Atlantic, two Ascap awards, an Ivor Novello nomination, both the Overall Grand and the Folk Prize from the International Acoustic Music Awards and, most recently, Female Vocalist Of The Year (FATEA, 2020) and Best Lyrics ('Like Animals' , US Indie Acoustic, 2021). She has also played major festivals including Glastonbury, Celtic Connections, Cropredy (that was a goody), Shrewsbury Folk, Beardy Folk, Ventnor, Wimborne (we nearly fixed a date that day...) as well as appearing at some of the UK?s most prestigious venues including Kings Place, Liverpool Philharmonic, oh, and The Greys...
Working with Michele Stodart, co-writing and performing,
radio sessions for Mark Radcliffe (BBC Radio 2) and Ricky Ross (BBC Radio Scotland), Ken Bruce (including his final BBC show), prove Charlie?s relevance and ability to capture the imagination of increasing and new audiences.
Ten album releases, described as ?eclectic contemporary folk with crunchy lyrics?, show her trademark dark wit, lyricism, and distinctive melodic voice. The 2021 Christmas EP 'The Man Who Built Christmas'stayed in her live sets on the basis that a good song isn?t just for Christmas....
It'll be jinglebellygreat to bring Charlie Dore into the luvverly Folklore Rooms - don't wait 'til the eve to buy your tkts.
