Description

Ping Pong Disco+The Raven Chords+Hopfrog+Daddy Those Men Scare Me
Ping Pong Disco ? ?This masked quartet have some pretty out-there ideas. Take music-making: Write a song in under 10 minutes, play it, and if they can remember how it goes, record it. This works surprisingly well for the mysterious combo ? from either Dundee or London ? who adopt disguises of duck, baby, rabbit and pig, and may be planning a bank heist later?.??

Yes, all true?check ?Fat Aladdin?s ?meandering Nile Rodger-style guitar lines and hedonistic Happy Mondays vibe? and ?I Need A Drink?s pounding teutonic beats that channel Front 242 or Nitzer Ebb, while the 10 tracks also recall early Kasabian and Bowie?s funkier period. Meanwhile, ?Scratcher?s nifty sounds and samples have a Sleaford Mods-do-hip-hop vibe and ?Super Vegetable? recalls PiL?s collaboration with Leftfield. And a WORLD OF TWIST fan?s delight to well warrant.

The Raven Chords ? magnificently mournful Grunge/Americana rocking joint Boy/girl vocals with a Mark Lanegan via a grunged up Giant Sand vibe.

Hopfrog ? Hailing from the mean streets of nearby Kilburn ,Hopfrog bring shimmering guitars and an indie vibe. With influences ranging from Nirvana and Green Day to bands like Nothing but Thieves they bring a raw energy as they carve out their sonic landscape. Vocally comparisons to Courtney Love and Ellie Rowsell have been drawn?

Daddy Those Men Scare Me ? our very favourite suburban punk pop ironists go way back to the early days of Bugbear- and now they?ve written a few new songs too! Then again why mess with a set list full of quality witty items like ?Mass Consumption?, ?Magic Mushroom Man? and ?Teenagers? (Cunts!)?wonderful. For fans of The Stranglers, Squeeze, Half Man Half Biscuit and Ian Dury

Dublin Castle Profile Pic

Description

The Dublin Castle is a legendary pub and music venue located 2 minutes away from Camden Town tube station. It has been run by the same family for over 28 years and features 4 live bands every night as well as a great selection of beers, ciders and wines.

There are DJs after the bands on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and a fabulous jukebox in the front bar if you’re after a more relaxed atmosphere.

But what is it that makes the Dublin Castle the long-standing centre of the indie rock universe? Is it because it’s Madness’ birthplace? Because its stage has been graced by everyone from Blur, through Coldplay, Supergrass, The Killers, The Arctic Monkeys, Billy Bragg, etc? Is it because it was no surprise to see Amy Winehouse behind the bar serving costumers? Or Suggs? (who, mind you, tended to ignore costumers and serve himself) Or is it because far from being just another Camden venue it has established itself as an indie rock institution? The answer is that it’s not only because of its musical heritage that people come to the Dublin Castle, it’s because whilst you enjoy a pint, play some tunes on the jukebox, check out the live bands, get your dancing shoes on for our DJs, chat to our friendly staff or even stage-invade a little, you’re inadvertently being part of this movement the Dublin Castle leads, this cultural legacy. Expect no castle battlements. Just pure rock and roll royalty.
