Saturday night at Jamboree with the brilliant Tashkezar, with a sound taking in powerful Mediterranean rhythms, mesmerising Arabic vocals and melodies, punchy Balkan horns and floor-shaking bass lines! Plus support from the ace Dunja Botic & Tim Karp (Don Kipper). Tonight?s gig is part of the Bloomsbury Festival!
Headliners Tashkezar are a 7-piece super-band with members from Egypt, Uzbekistan, France and the UK. Their transcultural vibes and explosive fusion sound takes in powerful Mediterranean rhythms, mesmerising Arabic vocals and melodies, punchy Balkan horns and floor-shaking bass lines. Be ready to dance. Opa!
Serbian-Greek singer Dunja Botic and guitarist Tim Karp are known for their projects Don Kipper, Embers Collective and many more. Tonight they come together for a set drawing inspiration from their love of nature, history and human connection. Dunja?s singing style incorporates Makam, Jazz and World Folk.
Jamboree food option: Our ?Arepatoire? kitchen is open from 6pm serving a delicious mix of Italian/Colombian food for you to enjoy a pre-gig meal/snack if you wish!
Jamboree is a grass-roots world music venue and bar hosting Folk, Blues, Americana, Celtic, Mediterranean, Eastern, European, GypsyPunk and Old Time Jazz!
Jamboree is back with a POP-UP adventure in a different venue in Limehouse from December 1st!
