Joe Tatton is a pianist, organist, singer & songwriter who emerged from the diverse Leeds music scene around 2001, playing up and down the UK?s jazz, funk and soul clubs. He is a current member of famed quartet The New Mastersounds and has been playing with them for over 18 years.
As part of NMS, Joe has recorded over a dozen albums and many singles, playing organ, piano and keyboard. During this time he has toured 8-9 months a year with the band, mainly in the USA but also across Europe and Japan too. Prior to this, Joe held down the keyboard role with UK jazz-funk kings The Haggis Horns, appearing on their first two albums Hot Damn! and Keep On Movin?. He?s also featured on piano/keyboards on the worldwide hit single ?Put Your Records On? by Corinne Bailey Rae.
Over the years Joe Tatton has played live sets in the US and UK with Maceo Parker and Fred Wesley of the JB's as well as Art Neville, George Porter Jr. and Zigaboo Modeliste of The Meters. He?s always maintained his own trio under his own name as a side project, releasing singles and EPs via ATA Records (UK) and Color Red Music (USA) and his own label Rodina Music
Joe Tatton Trio?s debut album Big Fish was recorded in Nashville and released in 2022 and went on to win over a legion of support from fans and media alike, including BBC 6, national French station FIP, national Spanish station Radio 3, Australian station 2SER and media such as Blues & Soul, Music Is My Sanctuary, and Music Republic Magazine.
Fast forward 2 years and the Joe joined forces with Spanish guitarist Lucas De Mulder for his sophomore album Galáctico, which came out in July 2024 and full of classic Hammond organ jazz-funk deliciousness!
Special guest for the evening is singer-songwriter Rodina who is set to release in June a brand new album "Good Company? which some of the first copies will be available for the evening. It's the first album for 6 years from Rodina but past tracks from earlier albums received airplay and favourable reviews.
Joe Tatton Trio are the finest purveyors in Soul/Jazz and are coming to the Foxlowe as part of Leek Arts Festival with their latest vinyl record ?Galáctico? ?Best funk album of 2024? Soulbag magazine. They are joined by special guest singer Rodina (?excellent" Jamie Cullum BBC R2) and bringing the very first copies of a brand new album ?Good Company? .
Expect blistering hammond organ, groovy drums (Luke Flowers - Cinematic Orchestra Corinne Bailey Rae) and funky guitar at this great night of original yet classic sounding funk music. ?Huge talent? Craig Charles - BBC 6MUSIC

Foxlowe Arts Centre is a community run arts centre for the people of Leek and The Staffordshire Moorlands.
Leek’s arts centre is housed in the historic building, Foxlowe, at the top of Leek’s market place.
Foxlowe Arts Centre opened its doors in December 2011 and has already gained a strong following from the local community and is attracting attention from further afield as well. Funded by individuals’ pledges, donations and trading proceeds and with the majority of the staff volunteering, this is truly a community arts centre for the people of Leek and the Staffordshire Moorlands.
With a popular café, bar, gallery, live performance space for music, drama, comedy, talks and a cinema, the Foxlowe Arts Centre has rapidly established a reputation as the go to place in Leek.
Foxlowe arts centre has limited parking at the back of the building for permit holders and disabled users only. Some workshops will include a parking permit spaces are available. To access the car park follow parking signs on Stockwell Street signed ‘P Short Stay, Council Offices’ and turn left after the first parking bays – this is the entrance to Foxlowe arts centre car park for permit holders, disabled users and others with permission e.g. workshop attendees.
