The incredibly talented British Pakistani guitarist, composer & vocalist Dr Aziz Ibrahim (h.c) returns to Spring Bank Arts with a more cerebral, musical and visual journey that crosses his British prog rock history & south Asian roots with heritage, culture and art of England.
Dr Aziz Ibrahim (h.c.) is a British Pakistani leader in the field of creative expertise. A renowned punjabi guitarist composer from Longsight Manchester UK, Aziz has written and performed with Farhad Humayun (Overload - Pakistan), Nasser Al Mizdawi (Libya), Ian Brown, Stone Roses, Paul Weller, Simply Red, Asia, Stephen Wilson, Yukihiro Takahashi (Yellow Magic Orchestra, 60?s folk pioneer Donovan, MC Akala, Rebel MC, Hot Chocolate and many other globally celebrated artists.
Expect musical responses to mills, stately halls and art galleries of England. Listen to British Asian perspectives of Gandhi's visit to Darwin to migrant stories of England. Hear Aziz take the very essence of the South Asian instruments and emulate them with guitar virtuosity that crosses so many genres of music taking the guitar out of the museum and pushing it back into the light of innovation that British progressive music has shone with on the global landscape for so many decades.
